Sam J. Busco

MILAN — Sam J. Busco, 67, of Milan, passed away after a brief battle with cancer Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.He was born in Sharon, Pa., July 12, 1950, to Nick J. and Rose Lucy (Gagliardi) Busco. A 1968 graduate of Farrell Area High School, Sam received his Bachelors degree from Clarion University and his Masters degree from Bowling Green State University. He was an educator in Norwalk, Canton, and Vermilion, until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement, he devoted his life to being a full time "Papa" to his five grandchildren.Sam is survived by his daughters, Dana (Joshua) L. Jones of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Julie (Frank, III) Sirse of Monroeville; grandchildren, Alexa and Daniel Jones, Caleb and Connor Dunn, and Owen Sirse; brother, Nick R. Busco of Sharon; sister, Patricia M. Hassell, of Grove City, Pa.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.In addition to his parents Nick and Rose Busco, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Anthony Busco; and numerous aunts and uncles.At Sam's request, he will be cremated and a private family service will take place in his hometown in Pennsylvania. Friends and family are invited for a memorial gathering 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Hickory Bar & Grille, 1645 N.
