Life Scholars announces spring schedule

The Life Scholars program at Terra State Community College, a peer-led group serving mature learners ages 50 and older, has announced its spring schedule, which includes classes in arts and crafts, fitness and more, as well as four trips planned for the spring:• Auto Barons Home Tour (7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. March 9) — The day includes tours of Meadow Brook Hall and the Ford House, country estates constructed with fortunes made in the early auto industry. Cost: $105 for non-members, $95 for members. Ticket cost includes lunch.• Fort Ancient, Oregonia, Ohio (7 a.m.-9 p.m. April 19) — Archaeology instructor Matt Duncan helps the group explore Fort Ancient, a collection of Native American earthworks along the eastern shore of the Little Miami River. Lunch will be at the Golden Lamb in Lebanon; dinner will be at Der Dutchman in Plain City. Cost: $100 for non-members, $90 for members. • Local Discovery (8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 12) — The day in Perrysburg, Ohio, includes a guided tour of the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, lunch at Social Gastropub and a trip to Fort Meigs. Cost: $70 for non-members, $60 for members.• Put-in-Bay (7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. June 6) — Explore Perry's cave, the Butterfly House or take in the scenery. The group will stop at the Put-in-Bay Winery for a tour and tasting. Cost: $100 for non-members, $90 for members. Unless otherwise noted, trip cost includes tour tickets and tips for drivers.
