SANDUSKY • Mitchell Sweet from Sandusky Schools girls' flag football won a coaching award in his season. The recognition comes from Browns Give Back, an organization part of the Cleveland Browns football team. He was awarded $1,000 to support his program. MONROEVILLE • Monroeville Schools' principal, Khari Grant, was awarded Zone 5 Middle School Principal of the Year by the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators. The association selected Grant from a list of nominations submitted by students, staff, administrators and colleagues. He is one of 10 award recipients and is now a finalist for the state-level awards. WILLARD • With the help of the family who owns it, Professional Bug Solutions, a business in Willard, hosted a Bug Buster Coloring Contest with local elementary students. The winners were awarded on May 20. SANDUSKY ORIOLES • The Sandusky Orioles announced their 2026 scholarship recipients. Winners include Jennifer Sartor, Avery Maldonado, Addison Lowe, Blake Witter, Gabriella Schirg, Gabriella Keller, Samuel Schweinfurth, Mason Adams and Paige Schnittker. EHOVE • EHOVE Career Center congratulated the EHOVE Child Development Center Class of 2026 with a ceremony. Graduates include Archer Wallace, Jackson Struve, Henry Sharp, Daxton Schaeffer, Cohen Roesch, Ava Roesch, Elliana Rodriguez, Juniper Gilbert, Rory Cooper, Carter Canada, Quinn Cameron and Macklin Burns. • EHOVE students participated at the SkillsUSA State Competition alongside other students across the state. Nine students, five high school and four adult education, earned gold metals and moved onto the national level. Ten others earned silver and bronze.
