Family Feud auditions coming to Kalahari

HURON TWP. — Top answer on the board: Where is a place in the area you can try out for a popular TV show?Survey says: Kalahari Resort. The popular show "Family Feud will host auditions at Kalahari Resort, 7000 Kalahari Drive, on Oct. 28 and 29, according to a release from news station Cleveland 19 WOIO. A Kalahari spokeswoman confirmed the auditions with the Register.Local families can audition by applying at familyfeud.com/audition or by calling 323- 762-8467. Interested residents who submit an application must either to be 18 years old or older or have a parent or legal guardian do it for them. Each group must have five family members for tryouts who are aged 15 or older. Auditions will occur by appointment only. Applicants who receive a call-back with a specific audition time will be scheduled, the release stated. "Family Feud" debuted in 1976 with Richard Dawson, late star of "Hogan's Heroes" TV series fame. Dawson stayed nine years and his habit of kissing female contestants became a signature. Over the years, six others previously served as regular hosts of the program, which features five family members pitted against five members of another family, all answering questions about how the general public answered certain — often inane — survey questions. Comedian Ray Combs was host from of first resurrection of "Family Feud," from 1988 to 1994. He committed suicide in 1996, after suffering years of depression. Others who filled the host's shoes were comedian Louie Anderson (1999-2002), "Home Improvement" TV actor Richard Karn (2002-2006), and "Seinfeld" actor (J. Peterman) John O'Hurley (2006-2010).Comedian Steve Harvey has been the show's host since 2010.
