School-based health center opens

CASTALIA — The Erie County Community Health Center and the Erie County Health Department are proud to announce the official opening of the Margaretta School-Based Health Center. Now open, this new facility, located at the Margaretta Schools' board office, 305 S. Washington St. in Castalia, is designed to provide students, staff and the surrounding community with convenient access to high-quality health care. By placing medical services directly within the school environment, the health center aims to reduce barriers to care, minimize time away from the classroom and support the overall well-being of the Polar Bear community. "This partnership allows us to provide essential primary care and preventive services right where students spend the majority of their day, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive academically and personally." The Erie County Community Health Center is the only comprehensive federally qualified health center in the area, offering primary, behavioral/mental health, oral health, addiction and crisis services to the community. Officials representing Margaretta Schools underscored how they're fully committed to this initiative.
