Students receive $137K in scholarships

NEW LONDON — New London Schools recently hosted a scholarship night to celebrate its soon-to-be graduates and alumni. On May 7, students, alumni and the New London community came together to celebrate the $137,000 scholarship dollars earned by current and past students. "This incredible generosity speaks volumes about the belief this community has in its young people and in the future they represent," Eric Yetter, New London High School principal, said at the event. In total, the senior class and alumni earned 154 awards. 20 former students and 31 seniors received scholarships and acknowledgment at the district's senior recognition and scholarship night. The event also recognized those entering the military and presented many academic awards.
