Kick it at Kids Fest

SANDUSKY — An annual event equal parts entertaining and educational, all revolving around safety, returns on Saturday. From noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, the Wightman-Wieber Celebration Safety Fair & Kids Fun Festival will return to the Sandusky Bay Pavilion, 605 E. Water St. While admission is free, everyone is asked to bring at least one canned good/nonperishable food item, which will be donated to Care and Share of Erie County. Organized by the Wightman-Wieber Foundation, the main attractions include: • Safety service agencies; More than 50 local organizations will be present. This includes Sandusky fire. Those firefighters will, once again, operate the department's children's safety house. It's a tool used to teach children how to escape fires. • Kids activities; They include multiple inflatable activities, face-painting, an arts and crafts station, caricatures provided by Sean Carroll and more. • Photo ops; The following characters are scheduled to make an appearance: Bluey, SpongeBob SquarePants, Chase, Marshall, Minion, Olaf, Spider-Man and more. • A plant and flower sale • Food trucks; People can get something to eat from local vendors at a cost. Get a lift Due to limited parking around the pavilion, people can take advantage of a free shuttle service, which makes a loop every 15 minutes.
