Saliva to rock at Ohio Bike Week

SANDUSKY — The 1990s was great for entertainment evolution.The Playstation changed the world of gaming, movies were suddenly available to own on digital disks, and CDs became the most popular and easy way to consume new music.There was no one genre seemingly more popular than all the others in the 1990s, but over the course of those 10 years, both rock and metal changed considerably and spawned a lot of new sub-genres, such as alternative and hard rock, nu metal, post-grunge, rap metal, and many more.One band born during this evolution was American rock band, Saliva.The band burst into the world of music, straight out of Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. Their first, self-titled album was self-released in 1997 and was widely received by their small, but rapidly growing fanbase. Island Records took notice as well and signed the band, almost as if they recognized that Saliva's style and sound would skyrocket in popularity with the dawn of the new millennium.Once signed, Saliva exploded into mainstream music and dominated alternative rock airwaves. They went on to release ten studio albums between the years 2001 and 2018, many of which topped charts. "Click Click Boom" from Saliva's second studio album, "Every Six Seconds" is arguably the band's most well-known song.This is due in part because of how it entwined it became with so many other types of entertainment and pop culture around the time of its release. The song was included on many movie soundtracks, most notably "The Fast and the Furious," it was featured in video games, utilized frequently by the WWE Network, and, for a while, it seemed to be the unofficial anthem for many sporting and/or high energy events, making it an iconic hype song.That aside, the song was popular with a lot of music fans because of its widely interpreted meaning. Cleverly disguised behind simple, yet aggressive lyrics, the song to many is mostly about a person who is using writing and music as an outlet for their negative feelings.As with much of their other music, "Click Click Boom" has easy to sing (or yell) lyrics, paired with a high energy sound that encompassed several subgenres of rock metal. It's no surprise to anyone who has heard the song how fitting a band like Saliva is for an event like Ohio Bike Week.Those who have seen the band at previous rallies can attest to how their music infects listeners with the desire to jump around and let loose. Which is why once again, Ohio Bike Week is welcoming back Saliva.Much to the delight of returning rally-goers, Friday night's Progressive Main Stage lineup will include three national acts, back to back. Following the performances of Saving Abel and Trapt, Saliva will take the stage at 10:30 p.m. to rock out and help conclude another action-packed party at Ohio Bike Week.General admission to the Progressive main stage is free, VIP is $40 or free for All Access Pass Holders.The band Saliva
