NORWALK — Talon Walton fired a three-hit shutout as the Perkins baseball team clinched at least a share of the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division title with a 7-0 win over Norwalk on Thursday. Walton walked three and struck out 10 for the Division IV No. 10-ranked Pirates (11-3-1, 8-0 SBC Lake). Sam Schweinfurth had three singles, two runs scored and a run batted in for Perkins while Kash Koch singled twice and scored a run. Carter Koch added a single, double and two runs scored. On the mound, Brown allowed just two hits while striking out eight. At the plate, he tallied two singles, two runs scored and three runs batted in. Grant Musser singled, drove in two and scored twice for Bellevue (10-6, 5-3 SBC Lake) while Kaden Beard singled and drove in two runs. Tommy Dean (run) and Miles McDonald each contributed two singles and a RBI. Logan Shepherd went the first six innings for the win. Lucas pitched a perfect seventh inning to seal the win. The night served as the Blue Streaks' Senior Night. The game was put together less than three hours before first pitch after Sandusky's game against Lorain and the Redskins' game against Toledo Waite were both cancelled. Prentice led off the inning by walking. After Marissa Frohne got two outs, Kaylee Summers also walked. She was pinch-ran for, leading to Popke's heroics. Prentice singled and drove in two runs for Sandusky (9-6). Summers pitched the first four innings before giving way to Leila Nestor, who threw three scoreless innings to pick up the win. Jae Mazur (run scored) had two singles while Micaela Wiechman and Gabby Howard each singled twice and drove in a run for Port Clinton (11-12). Maddie Gamble tripled and scored three times for the Truckers while Alexis Dellisanti had a single, double, run scored and RBI. Viock added a single and two RBI.
