Fremont hosting Memorial Day kickoff concert

FREMONT — Three local organizations — Downtown Fremont Inc., the city of Fremont and the Rotary Club of Fremont — will host a Memorial Day kickoff and concert event at the Fremont Community Amphitheater, 209 S Arch St., Fremont. It will follow the Memorial Day parade, set for 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25. The free concert will begin at 11 a.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a morning of live music. Come hungry: Jimmy G's BBQ food truck will be on site, serving up some of the area's best barbecue, adding even more flavor to this exciting event. After the concert, keep the celebration going by stopping into The Garrison, which will be open and ready to welcome guests. Area restaurants and businesses will be open during Memorial Day as well to serve the community and visitors for these events. This concert's featured entertainment is Whiskey Outlaws, a Cleveland-based band known for its high-energy blend of classic and modern country with a touch of southern rock. The lively performance is sure to have the crowd on their feet, singing and dancing along to their favorite hits. Rotary celebrating special anniversary The Rotary Club of Fremont, a local service organization made up of community members dedicated to service above self, is proud to sponsor the Fremont Community Amphitheater this season in honor of its centennial, marking 100 years. As part of its 2 Projects 1 Goal campaign that was launched to celebrate 100 years, the club was the catalyst that helped bring the vision for the amphitheater to life, which makes this sponsorship especially meaningful. "It feels incredibly fitting that the Rotary helped spark the creation of the amphitheater — and now here it is, serving as a place where our community comes together," Rotary Club of Fremont president Megan Craun said.
