Ole Camp St. Tavern suddenly closes

SANDUSKY — A neighborhood establishment many know for its good food, great drinks and even better camaraderie suddenly closed in recent days."As of this past Saturday, Camp Street is closed and up for sale," according to a message the Register received Monday night from the restaurant's Facebook page. Additional attempts to contact management went unreturned.It's a completely conflicting response given by the same account for the Register's Mailbag, which published earlier this week."We are not closing and no plans in the near future of closing," the account wrote on Dec. 27.Upon opening in 2015, Ole Camp St. Tavern ownership invested roughly $600,000 in remodeling the property, formerly home to Camp Street Bar, Camp Street Lunch and Smith Meat Market.DeAnna Kotz, with the help of her parents Richard and Edie Kotz, opened Ole Camp St. Tavern. Edie took to her personal Facebook page and spoke about the closure."We have enjoyed doing business with all of you," Edie wrote.
