PREP ROUNDUP: Sandusky picks up first Lake baseball win

CLYDE — All of the scoring was done in the first five innings and the Sandusky baseball team outlasted Clyde 11-8 in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division action Monday. Deyker Inciarte homered and drove in four runs for the Blue Streaks (5-9, 1-6 SBC Lake) while Amaree Mack hit a solo home run. Both homers came in the first inning. "We got the lead early on a couple of big swings in the middle of our order," Blue Streaks coach Zack Moots said. "We came right back and got multiple runs and we got the lead." Ja'Syre Poole picked up the win, going the final 2 2/3 innings. He allowed no runs on three hits while striking out three. Colt Flores singled, doubled and scored twice for the Fliers (4-9, 1-5) while Adler Renfro tallied two singles, a run scored and a RBI. "We had 12 walks," Fliers coach Jake Strayer said. "It's hard to win a baseball game with 12 base runners. Drake (Yohe) came in towards the end for us and pitched really well but 12 extra isn't getting things done. Vermilion (5-8, 4-5 SBC Bay) led 2-1 after Port Clinton (4-13, 0-9) scored a run in the bottom of the fifth. Trey Colahan singled, doubled, scored a run and drove in a run for the Sailors. Brady Morrow added a single and two runs. Morrow picked up the win, allowing one run on two hits while striking out eight in five innings. Norwalk (13-5, 6-1 SBC Lake) was down 1-0 but scored two runs in the second, third and sixth innings to keep a game back of Perkins in the league race. Carter Harp struck out 11 in a complete-game effort on the mound. Kaedyn Warner had a single, double, run scored and run batted in for Norwalk while Wesley Shupe added two singles. Izaac Snyder and Alex Marsh each doubled and homered for St. Paul. Snyder drove in three and scored twice while Marsh had two RBI. Gabe Snyder (double) and River Couch (two RBI) each added two hits.
