Bellevue Hospital opens $7M Eagle Crest Health Park

BELLEVUE — The Bellevue Hospital opened Eagle Crest Health Park, a $7 million, 27,000-square-building at 102 Commerce Park Drive, near the hospital.The building, put up by the general contractor and architect, Janotta & Herner, of Monroeville, allowed the hospital to expand its rehabilitative services unit and also is the new home for several other health-related businesses. It officially opened on Wednesday."We are excited to offer this new health park to our community," said Michael K. Winthrop, who has served as the hospital president for 31 years. "This space focuses on providing key outpatient services and also introduces a 24/7 fitness center to the Bellevue area."First National Bank of Bellevue provided initial financing and the hospital also issued bonds authorized by the county commissioners, Winthrop said.Here are the new building's occupants:• The hospital's rehabilitation services unitThe unit includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and industrial services. The new location is double the size of the unit's former space in the hospital and includes a larger aquatic therapy pool, 15-feet by 18-feet, allowing the hospital to begin offering aquatic exercise classes.• Anytime FitnessThe fitness business offers 24-hour access and worldwide access to other Anytime Fitness gyms. The Bellevue Hospital is the first hospital to become an Anytime Fitness franchisee. New members get an hour with a personal trainer to plan their workout program.• Great Lakes Physicians Obstetrics and GynecologyDr. Gregory Karasik and Dr. Corey Fazio discovered they've outgrown their old office at 1400 W. Main St. in Bellevue, so they've moved to a new location where they can offer a variety of services, including ultrasound. The practice also will continue to see patients at its Clyde location, 1005 W. McPherson Highway.• Wound Reconstruction Center and Lower Extremity Reconstruction Institute of Northern OhioThe Wound Reconstruction Center offers a variety of wound treatment options. It says it provides surgical and non-surgical treatment for chronic, non-healing wounds associated with diabetes, bone infections, pressure ulcers, surgery, vascular disease and venous insufficiency.The center moved from its previous office in Clyde and shares space with the Lower Extremity Institute, which provides advanced treatment for lower extremity wounds.The Bellevue Hospital is a locally-owned a nonprofit hospital. It is partially owned by Fisher-Titus Medical Center and Firelands Regional Medical Center, which each have a 20 percent stake and seats on the board.
