New owners behind the bar

MARBLEHEAD — New owners shuffle up the running of The Erie Social Shuffleboard Club & Bar in Marblehead.Tony and Helen Puckett officially take over ownership of the bar, located at 5686 E. Harbor Road, on Thursday with a grand reopening. The bar first opened three years ago."Most people associate club with private or needing membership — we are open to the public," Tony said. "We are local and I just wanted to keep this great place here for people to get together."The club currently has a full bar and deli sandwich shop, but in the winter the Pucketts will expand the menu after they add fryers and grills to the kitchen.There's plenty for people to do at the club including bowling games, skee ball, pool, darts, corn hole, dart ball and of course shuffle board. The club will be hosting several leagues for each of its activities."It's a place to hang out with friends and family. We offer things to do for people of all ages," Tony said.The club also has bowling games, skee ball, basketball games, giant Jenga and about 50 board games. The Pucketts also added two pool tables, two dart machines and a Golden Tee machine.But if that's not enough entertainment, it has two 10-foot projection TVs making it a great place to watch a game. The Pucketts want to add live music to the bar every Friday next summer.
