PREP ROUNDUP: Perkins tops Sandusky in Lake softball

SANDUSKY — Perkins had a pair of five-run innings, coming from behind to defeat Sandusky 12-5 in Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division softball action Thursday at Dorn Park. After moving the game from Perkins High School due to field conditions, the Pirates (7-9, 3-4 SBC Lake) trailed 4-0 after three innings. Perkins scored five runs in the fourth inning to take the lead and increased the margin with five more runs in the sixth. Kaleyon Miller had two singles, two runs batted in and a run scored for the Pirates. Natalie Martin singled and doubled while Ashtynn Prelipp singled and drove in two. Maycce Bohn picked up the win, striking out seven in a complete game. Six different players had one hit for the Blue Streaks (7-6, 3-3) with Makayla Popke tripling and scoring a run. Gamble tallied a home run, two doubles, a single, six runs batted in and four runs scored for Norwalk (9-9, 5-2 SBC Lake). Alexis Dellisanti added three singles, a double, three RBI and three runs scored while Audryn Ott recorded three singles, two RBI and two runs. Sophia Ames was the winning pitcher, going the first 3 1/3 innings. Saige Viock went the final 3 2/3 innings, allowing no runs on one hit. Ryleigh Knutti lined three singles and a RBI for Bellevue (8-9, 4-3) while Chloe Easterwood (double) and Taylor Waldrup each added two hits, two runs scored and a RBI. Ellianna Young and Lucy Edwards each singled in the seventh for Margaretta (13-4). After a flyout, Hastings poked her second double of the game, plating both runs. Hastings added a single and finished the day with four RBI. Young had two singles, a double and three runs scored while Cassidy Lane added three singles, three RBI and two runs. Isla Palomo also had two singles and a double for the Polar Bears while Lucy Edwards had two singles and three runs scored. Lane picked up the pitching win, striking out seven in a complete game. Mya Stiefel tallied a double, two singles, two RBI and two runs for the Fliers (8-8). The Panthers (5-7, 2-5 SBC River) took a brief 2-1 lead in the third inning only for Woodmore to tie the game at 2 in the bottom half of the inning. Reid Didion tallied two singles and a run scored for SMCC while Britt Rhoads singled and scored a run. Rhoads took the loss, allowing just three earned runs while striking out seven. Perkins (8-3-1, 6-0 SBC Lake) led 2-0 after one inning and 7-0 after two innings. Kash Koch (double) and Talon Walton (triple) each had two hits, three runs batted in and two runs scored for the Pirates. Sam Schweinfurth added two singles and two RBI while Bryce Davie tallied two singles and two runs scored. Josh Cummings went the distance for the win for Perkins. Landon Ferkel singled and drove in three runs for the Truckers. Greg Keefer picked up the win, going five innings for Norwalk. He struck out three. Nate King pitched the final two innings. SMCC-Woodmore tied after 10 ELMORE — Daylight prevailed in the St. Mary Central Catholic-Woodmore Sandusky Bay Conference River Division game. The game was stopped after 10 innings with the score tied at 7. SMCC (8-4, 6-1 SBC River) led 2-0 early, but needed a run in the sixth inning to tie the Wildcats (11-7, 7-2). The Panthers scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning, but Woodmore answered with four runs in the bottom half of the frame. SMCC loaded the bases with no outs in the 10th inning, but two strikeouts and a groundout ended the threat. Cayden Wikel went the first three innings for the Panthers, allowing two runs while striking out six. Benny Byington threw the final seven innings, giving up three earned runs while tallying nine strikeouts. Blake Finneran has three singles and two runs scored for SMCC while Cullen Dillard tallied two singles and two runs scored.
