Learn how to decorate realistic floral cupcakes

NORWALK — The Norwalk Public Library, 46 W Main St., will offer a variety of programs for all ages throughout May, including early literacy events, hands-on workshops and adult programs. Note: The library will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Among the featured events: • Baby Steps: Lap-Sit StoryTime — from 10:30-11 a.m. on May 4 and May 20; Designed for children ages up to 18 months old and their caregiver, this program focuses on fingerplays, short stories and songs to support early language and literacy development. One adult per child is recommended. • StoryTime — from 10:30-11 a.m. on May 7, 14 and 21; This is a weekly program for children up to 5 years old that encourages a love of reading through books, rhymes and songs. • Floral Cupcake Workshop — from 5:30-7 p.m. on May 1; Learn to decorate realistic floral cupcakes with Jessie from Dos Gringas Bakes. Teens may attend with an adult. • Murder Mystery Monday: True Crime Podcast Club — from 6-7 p.m. on May 18; Participants will investigate the mystery of Trish Haynes. Graphic content is included; the listening list is available at norwalk.lib.oh.us/content/true-crime-podcast-club. • Wooden Bead Trivets — from 5:30-7 p.m. on May 19; Create decorative trivets using wooden beads and twine. Additional May offerings include baby programs, children's activities, craft workshops and book discussions for adults. Looking ahead, the library's summer reading program will begin on, June 1 with a dinosaur-themed adventure. More details will be released closer to June.
