Make Mother's Day gift at library

MILAN — The Milan-Berlin Library District invites community members to celebrate spring with a full slate of May programs for children, teens and adults, including seasonal crafts, reading groups and the library's annual "Star Wars" Day celebration. Among the featured events: Milan Public Library, 19 Church St. • May the 4th Be With You: A Star Wars Day Celebration — from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday; Open to all ages, this annual celebration features a themed screening and activities, such as crafts, a rebel shooting gallery and a light saber training zone. Homemade treats, including Bantha Milk and Wookie Pies, will be provided by the Milan-Berlin Library District's Pop-Up Cafe. • DIY Book Bricks — from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday; Children ages 8-18 can transform ordinary garden bricks into decorative book-themed art. • Mother's Day Flower Potting — from 4-4:45 p.m. on May 7; Children of all ages can create a personalized flower pot as a Mother's Day gift. Younger children will require adult assistance. • Adult Book Club: Remarkably Bright Creatures — from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on May 20; Readers will discuss Shelby Van Pelt's novel exploring friendship, healing and second chances. Copies are available at the circulation desk. Berlin Heights Public Library, 4 E. Main St. • Bloom Basics — from 6-7:30 p.m. on May 13; Adults can enjoy a hands-on floral arranging workshop and take home a custom bouquet. • Yak, Snack & Read — from 3-3:30 p.m. on May 28; Come together for a book reading with snacks and a fun discussion. It's intended for grades 4-8. This month's book is "Mexikid" by Pedro Martin.
