Celebrate 'Star Wars' Day at local library

HURON — The Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., invites community members to take part in engaging programs and special events during May. Note: The library will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Among some featured events: • May the Fourth — Star Wars Day — all day on May 4; Celebrate "Star Wars" Day at the library with a space-themed display featuring activities and a variety of "Star Wars" materials. Patrons who check out "Star Wars"-related items may receive a commemorative token while supplies last. • Coffee & Conversations: Shores & Islands Ohio — from 10-11 a.m. on May 16; Stop by the audio-visual area for an informal community conversation to learn more about how Shores & Islands Ohio supports local tourism and economic development. Coffee and snacks will be provided. • Stay & Play at Night — from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on May 19; The family-friendly program encourages educational play, socialization and connection for both children and caregivers. • Ohio Movie Night: "Superman (2025)" — from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on May 27; Celebrate Ohio in the movies with a screening of "Superman." The iconic Superman character was created in Cleveland where the 2025 film was also shot, showcasing recognizable local architecture. In addition to these highlighted programs, the library is currently accepting donations for the Friends of Huron Public Library Book Sale.
