Sandusky man charged with assault

SANDUSKY — Police arrested a Sandusky man for allegedly assaulting a woman after he accused her of hiding his alcohol.Michael McClellan, Jr., 33, of the 1200 block of Second St., was charged on Monday with assault and domestic violence, a third-degree felony because of a prior conviction.Just after 8 a.m., police responded to the home McClellan shares with a woman after a caller reported he was intoxicated and causing problems, according to a Sandusky police report.The woman said she slept in a different room because he was causing problems the night before. She claimed he went into the room in the morning and allegedly put his knee into her back causing her pain.He allegedly grabbed her pants and pulled on her, but she told him to stop before he tore her clothes. McClellan then allegedly grabbed and pulled her across the hallway to their room and forced her on to the bed, the report states.He allegedly placed his arm over her face to hold her down. She claimed he started to yell and accuse her of hiding his alcohol. She said she felt like he was going to hurt her, according to the report. McClellan had locked himself in room upstairs, but he eventually agreed to open the door to speak to the police. He told officers he didn't do anything wrong.The woman didn't want to pursue charges, but police discovered he has four prior convictions for domestic violence, according to the report.
