Former Kroger fuel center sells for $400K

SANDUSKY — Fueled by the purchase price, ThorWorks Industries sold a parcel once home to a gas station.Located at 508 W. Perkins Ave., in front of ThorWorks' equipment production center, a trustee recently bought the land, previously Kroger's fuel center, for $400,000."The buyer wishes to remain confidential," said Henry "Mac" Lehrer, a realtor representing Hoty Enterprises, who handled the sale.Lehrer, however, provided some insight into the site's future use."It will be a commercial entity with a compatible use for Perkins Avenue and the zoning district that is there," he said. "I would expect they are going to be doing some work on that fairly soon."This past winter, the Kroger gas station pumps moved from 508 W. Perkins Ave., by KFC, to the relatively new Kroger Marketplace, 226 E. Perkins Ave, near Big Lots.
