A new and improved Chick-fil-A returns to Cedar Point

Editor's note: Justin Dietz is a Register correspondent representing CPFoodBlog.com and @CPFoodBlog on Twitter.SANDUSKY — When Chick-fil-A ended its partnership with Cedar Point after the 2015 season, guests were disappointed given they would now need to travel to Perrysburg, near Toledo, or North Olmsted, near Cleveland, to get their nearest chicken fix.Meanwhile, for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Cedar Point brought back Frontier Inn, which paid tribute to the original location that started in the 1970s — and before many remember it as the Plantation Inn.During the 2018 Cedar Point Winter Chill Out, it was announced that Chick-fil-A would be returning to the park for the new season, once again replacing Frontier Inn.Regardless of your political views of Chick-fil-A, or opinion on the restaurant shutting down on Sundays, the return of the franchise to Cedar Point makes good business sense.While we really liked all the hand-breaded chicken tenders and salads served at Frontier Inn, lots of guests had issues with consistency of the product. Not to mention they could not quite figure out how to cook tater tots.After visiting nearly all of the Cedar Fair parks, one thing is always predictable: There is a line out the door at Chick-fil-A. The younger generation in particular really eats up the product, and, no matter the Cedar Fair property — from Carowinds, Kings Dominion, or Kings Island — the establishment is very popular with patrons.The Cedar Point Chick-fil-A opened for the 2018 season on May 18. The first thing guests will see is a completely remodeled store with modern interior.The menu offers popular favorites like the classic fried chicken sandwich and nuggets, and also brings new healthier options, grilled chicken and nuggets.
