Police: Man delivers marijuana to the wrong vehicle

NORWALK — Police arrested a Milan man Tuesday after he allegedly went to deliver marijuana to a buyer but placed it in the wrong person's car.Anthony Damante, 18, of the 500 block of Bryan Road, was charged with marijuana trafficking, a fifth-degree felony.At about 5 p.m. on Friday, a woman called police after she returned to her vehicle from a Madison Street store and found a 40-gram bag of a marijuana in her car, according to a Norwalk police report.The woman said she left her car unlocked when she went in to the buy lottery tickets. She returned to her car to scratch the tickets and she noticed a "distinct and odd" odor in her vehicle.She then found a sandwich bag labeled "Sour Kush" full of marijuana on her front seat, the report states. Surveillance footage allegedly showed a man and woman arrive in two separate vehicle's before they met up and exchanged something inside the man's Jeep.The caller then parked between the man's Jeep and the woman's Buick. The man allegedly went into the caller's vehicle and placed something on the front seat, according to the report. Officers used Bureau of Motor Vehicle records to determine the man was Damante.The buyer allegedly gave Damante $300 for marijuana and told him to put it in her car while she went into the store. But he allegedly put it in the caller 's vehicle by mistake, the report states.He said he wasn't aware of the mistake at the time but had since taken care of the mix-up. He also allegedly admitted he's sold marijuana before and gets it from a guy in Sandusky.
