Another woman claims Greg Lockhart raped her

SANDUSKY — A woman came forward on Friday and reported Sandusky city commissioner Greg Lockhart raped her when she was 16.The woman filed a report with the Erie County Sheriff's Office Friday evening, Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth said.Sigsworth said investigators are trying to determine exactly where the alleged assault occurred. The information obtained would then be turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agency.In 2000, Lockhart was charged with felony-level sex offenses involving a 14-year-old girl. He plea bargained those charges down to a pair of misdemeanors: sexual imposition and importuning, which involves soliciting a minor.In that 2000 case, the girl said Lockhart lured her to a back room of a teen dance club in Milan that he operated, cut the lights and assaulted her in the dark as she begged him to stop. In a police report, the victim told investigators "that she had been raped" by Lockhart.The woman who reported the rape on Friday told the Register Lockhart tricked her to come to a residence under false pretenses. The woman filed a report with the sheriff's office after speaking with the Register.Lockhart has refused to answer questions about the 2000 sexual assault. When he entered a no contest plea to the reduced charges, he maintained his innocence. He has not given any explanation about what occurred or why he agreed to accept a deal involving sex-offense charges.In another rape allegation against Lockhart — in November 2015, shortly after he was elected city commissioner — a woman told police Lockhart had sex with her after she passed out. She awoke the next morning on Lockhart's couch half-naked and confused as to what happened.
