We do more than just newspapers — much more. Those behind the scenes of the Sandusky Register and Norwalk Reflector always have more in the works beyond the newspapers delivered to your home six days each week. The first quarter of this year has been no different, with a number of special projects that you might have already seen, like our collaborative agriculture features magazine, Roots, and our guide for the 2026 Erie County Home Design & Remodeling Expo, to name a few. There's more to come. Here's a rundown of some of our special publications slated to release over the next few months. Note that publication dates are subject to change: • Senior Living: You don't have to wait long for this one; it's inserted in this very edition. Read recent news, features and advice pieces for local seniors in this section. • Sandusky Living: The latest edition of our Sandusky features magazine is complete and should be delivered to homes in the 44870 ZIP code soon. If you live outside that zone and want a copy, we have a handful available to purchase at our 314 W. Market St. office. Inside, you'll find stories about the city's greenhouse, an ice cream shop, a hidden shipwreck in the city and more. • Discover 419 Summer Fun Guide: Probably our largest special publication each year, this annual guide showcases what's there to do in each county in the 419 area code — which covers a significant portion of northwest Ohio. Each county, and the communities therein, has interesting stories to tell and fun summertime activities planned, and we've tried to highlight as many as we could. Check out this publication, inserted into the May 9 edition of the Register and Reflector and on newsstands in downtown Sandusky. • Destination Huron: In past years, our annual Huron features publication went under the name Explore Huron. With a slightly new name this spring, it retains the community voices and community stories of the Great Lake Place. The publication will be mailed to households in the Huron zip code in late May. • Ohio Bike Week: Our annual guide for Sandusky's Ohio Bike Week will return this May 28 in the Register and the Reflector. Get a preview of musical acts, a schedule of events and more in this section recognizing this annual staple event for Sandusky. • 2026 Graduation Guide: You'll find pictures of graduation seniors from many local high schools inside this section. See it in the Weekender on May 30. • America 250 section: It's a special year for the nation, and we're going to highlight the region's unique history and how it ties into the greater story of the nation as it celebrates its 250th birthday. Coming this June in the Weekender. • Huron County guide: Much like the Huron city publication in May, the Huron County magazine — slated to be mailed to most areas of Huron County this July — will highlight a number of people, businesses and events that make Huron County great.
