Artists' club to celebrate local artist

PORT CLINTON — The Port Clinton Artists' Club invites the public to a special artist reception from noon to 3 p.m. on May 2 at the Sutton Center, 1848 E. Perry St., in Port Clinton. This event offers the community an opportunity to experience a diverse collection of original artwork while celebrating the creativity and talent of local artists. "Guests are encouraged to attend and bring friends and family for an enjoyable and inspiring gathering centered around the arts," according to an event statement. "The reception will highlight the club's current exhibit and honor this quarter's featured artist, Jan Hackett, whose expressive work reflects a unique blend of technique, emotion and artistic vision," the statement continued. "As a special highlight, Jan will be demonstrating her charcoal process, giving guests a behind-the-scenes look at how she creates her artwork and insight into her creative approach." In addition to the featured artist, the exhibit includes a variety of pieces by club members, showcasing a range of styles, mediums and perspectives that celebrate the richness of the local art community.
