Ronald P. Wicker

HURON — Ronald P. Wicker, 64, residing in Huron, passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 24, 2018, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.Ronald was born on Feb. 21, 1954, in Sandusky, to William and Doris (Hyde) Wicker.Ronald graduated from Perkins High School in 1972. He began his employment at Routh Packing, was a tow motor operator at Ford for 10 years and then owned and operated Waggin Tails Dog Boarding for 7 years. He also was co-owner of both Wick's Bar & Grill in Bellevue and 3rd Base Bar in Castalia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.Ronald is survived by his wife, Paula (Connell) Wicker, whom he married on July 10, 1978; his daughter, Mandee (Andy) Metcalf of Milan; son, Nathan (Bridget) Wicker of Huron; six grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Richard Wicker both of Sandusky and other relatives.In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by an infant grandchild.Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, in the funeral home. The Rev. Mel Sayler will officiate.
