Huron • Osborn MetroPark parkrun: Parkrun is a timed 5K walk/jog/run happening every Saturday at 9 a.m. at Osborn MetroPark, 3910 Perkins Ave. The event is free and open to all ages; people are welcome to bring their strollers or dogs. Milan • Trap and Skeet Range: Erie County Conservation League, 815 Mason Road E., hosts a trap and skeet shooting range to members and the public from noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays. Sandusky and Norwalk • "Music Lives in Everything": Join the Sandusky Choral Society for its spring concert, "Music Lives in Everything." Elmore • Pruning Trees For Stronger Structure: Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, 19255 W. Portage River S. Road, is hosting master arborist Joe Puperi of Advanced Tree Health to discuss how to manage young trees so they can thrive over the long term. Huron • Wings Over Lake Erie — Spring Birding Series: From 8-10 a.m., join Wyandot MetroPark, 4501 Cleveland Road W., to watch the spring bird migration. FRIDAY Sandusky • Carrington Arts - Creative is BACK!: Join Carrington Arts Creative Gallery, 318 Franklin St., for an open house celebration featuring mixed media paintings, whimsical blot art and photography. There's a 20% discount on art for this evening only. • Arts Versus Live Art Battle Event: The Emporium at West Market Street, 314 W. Market St., and UNDRSTR are hosting six local artists and attendees for a live head-to-head in a timed event guided by DJ-curated music and shaped by audience energy. Milan • Transportation & The Milan Canal: Join Milan Public Library, 19 Church St., from 6-7 p.m. for this event that's a part of America 250 programming, featuring guest speaker Judith Horchler. Proceeds benefit the Downs on the Farm organization. Sandusky • Astronomy Day: Sandusky Library, 114 W. Adams St., is hosting area amateur astronomers from 9:30 a.m. to noon for National Astronomy Day. Activities for kids include planetarium shows, solar observing, book readings and telescope building. Adults can listen to a lecture from a NASA solar system ambassador. Huron • Earth Day Extravaganza 2026: From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Osborn MetroPark, 3910 Perkins Ave., will host families for kids crafts, live animals, food trucks and more. • National Citizen Science Day: Join Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve and State Nature Preserve, 2514 Cleveland Rd. Vermilion • Vermilion Chamber Chocolate & Wine Walk: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., join the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce in downtown Vermilion for an afternoon of shopping, dining and sampling chocolate and/or wine. This year's theme is derby hats and participants are encouraged to wear one. Registration fee is $30 per person and participants must be 21 or older. SUNDAY Monroeville • Fire district's chicken BBQ: Join the Huron River Joint Fire District for its annual chicken barbecue starting at 11 a.m. at the fire district's station, 155 Monroe St. The event is drive-through and the line will start on Prospect Street. Cost for each dinner is $13. Catawba • Crafts with Drafts — Macramé Flower Keychain Workshop: From noon to 3 p.m., visit Twin Oast Brewery, 3630 N.E. Catawba Rd. (SR 53), for a creative afternoon crafting a flower keychain with Mama's Macramé. Advance registration is required and tickets are $38 each. Put-in-Bay • Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers Draft Day 5K: From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., people can run in the Draft Day 5k, headquartered at Mr. Ed's Bar, 272 Delaware Ave. Participants can run or walk and will get a jersey shirt, mug, race bub, drawstring bag, discounts, a free lunch and more. Oak Harbor • Oak Harbor Masonic Lodge #495 22nd Annual Chicken Bar-B-Que Fundraiser: This barbecue fundraiser, benefiting a scholarship for an Oak Harbor student, runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until everything is sold out) at Veterans Memorial Park, Eagles Nest Hall, 210 Jefferson St. Cost for each dinner is $15 and are being sold by pre-sale, but some meals will be available on the day on first-come, first-served basis. There is a different topic each month and there is always an activity or craft. Huron • Armstrong & Flightwith Armstrong Air & SpaceMuseum: Kids in grades K-6 can visit the Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., to attend a program about Neil Armstrong and the airplanes he flew, including the record-setting Learjet. Kids and tweens can also do an experiment with the four forces of flight, and make and decorate flyers out of balsa wood. Sandusky • Time Traveler History Talks - Retracing the Lake Shore Electric Railway: Visit Shores & Islands Ohio, 125 E. Water St., from 5:30-6:30 p.m. to hear from Brian George of North Coast Narrative speak about the Lake Shore Electric Railway, which operated from 1901 to 1938 between Cleveland and Toledo. The event is free to attend and light refreshments will be served. WEDNESDAY Sandusky • The Pink Loaf Sourdough Class at the Book Bar: From 6-8 p.m., join the Sandusky Book Bar, 2101 W. Perkins Ave., to learn from Allie from The Pink Loaf for a hands-on sourdough breadmaking class.
