Jaxon Scott Dever

PHOENIX — Jaxon Scott Dever, 23, of Phoenix, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, after a motorcycle accident. He was born in Ashland, Ohio, Feb. 3, 1994, the son of Kelley (Camp) Spring and Jeff Dever. Jaxon graduated from Hillsdale High School, where he was a member of the football, wrestling, and track teams. After high school he went on to join the Marines and finished his contract as a Lieutenant Corporal. "The Honorable Mr. Dever" moved to Phoenix to further pursue his passion for motorcycles and enrolled in the Motorcycle Mechanical Institute (MMI). He was employed by Costco where he quickly made many friends. On Oct. 7, 2017, Jaxon married his high school sweetheart, Kelsey Eberly, and had a beautiful ceremony in the desert. Kelsey was the great love of Jaxon's life, and their time together was indeed very special. They had the secret many seek — love of God and a deep love for each other. Jaxon's smile was infectious, and he lit up every room he was in. He traveled the world and his one-of-a-kind personality impacted many people. He enjoyed writing and playing music, being outdoors as well as riding and working on motorcycles. His charismatic spirit will forever shine and he is now riding the clouds of Heaven. Jaxon is survived by his wife, Kelsey Eberly; mother, Kelley (Camp) Spring; father, Jeff Dever (Cathy Taylor); brother, Dakota Dever (Kendra Summers); nephew, Donavon Dever; paternal grandparents, Evie Hartman and Jerry (Sharon) Dever; great paternal grandmother, Margaret Felton; great maternal grandmother, Agnes (Downing) Camp; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and brothers he served with in the USMC.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Larry and Diane (Mineo) Camp of Sandusky. A Celebration of Life was held in the Hillsong Church, Arizona, where the Patriot Guard Riders honored his service to our country. Ohio services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Grace Church, Wooster. A gathering of friends will follow at the Ashland Moose Lodge 1383 at 2 p.m.Jaxon was a true man of God. A wonderful husband. A wonderful son. A wonderful brother. A wonderful uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin; an all-around good citizen. We truly lost a great man when we lost Jaxon, but his Spirit lives on in all of us and we will never forget him. From the little things he did to the great things he did, he left an imprint that will never fade away. Be one with God Jaxon. Be one.
