SANDUSKY — The St. Mary softball team drew 11 walks, defeating Fremont St. Joseph 13-5 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division action Tuesday at Dorn Park. The Panthers (4-5, 1-3 SBC River) trailed 2-1 before scoring 11 runs in the third inning. SMCC finished with just five hits. Ella Brownell doubled and scored twice while Reid Didion and Brylie Gill each had a single, two runs scored and a run driven in. Laney Torres registered two runs and two RBI while Audriella Walton added a single and four RBI. Brittney Rhoads picked up the win, allowing one earned run. She struck out three. Foos; (SMCC) Brownell Sandusky 18, Vermilion 1 VERMILION — The Blue Streaks made it five wins in a row with the Sandusky Bay Conference crossover road victory. Sandusky (6-4) scored seven runs in the first inning and added eight more runs in the fourth inning. Amari Prentice homered, singled twice, drove in three runs and scored twice for the Blue Streaks. Izabell Sartor added a single, double, three RBI and two runs while Savannah Palmer singled twice, doubled and tallied five RBI. Also for Sandusky, Akiyla Jones singled, doubled and scored twice, Makayla Popke (RBI) had three singles and three runs and Kaylee Summers added two singles. Summers went the first three innings for the win, allowing an unearned run with four strikeouts. Leila Nestor allowed one hit over the final two innings. Vermilion dropped to 1-12. Bellevue (5-7, 2-2 SBC Lake) was outscored 41-2 over its last three games, but led 7-2 after three innings against the Pirates (6-6, 2-2). Chloe Easterwood had a double, home run and three runs batted in for the Lady Red. Ryleigh Knutti had a double, two singles, and two RBI while Mallory Hay recorded three singles. Jaelynn Powers (three RBI) and Lianna Sosa (RBI) each had a single, double and two runs scored and MyahAnn Reesman added a single, double and two runs. Hay picked up the win, striking out seven in a complete-game effort. Quanise Rogers and Allie Brunner each recorded two singles, a RBI and a run scored for Perkins. With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Tristian Wetherill singled and stole second. He scored on Price's single to tie the game at 4. Price then stole second before Schnittker's single into center. Schnittker was also the winning pitcher, going the final two innings. Price and Wetherill each finished with two hits and two runs scored for Edison (8-3). Kaedyn Warner singled and drove in three runs for the Truckers (8-5).
