One man shot in incident believed related to Sandusky fight

SANDUSKY — Two people were arrested early Sunday morning after fighting and a report of shots fired outside Lyman Harbor, a bar in the 1600 block of First Street at 2:16 a.m. Sunday.A man with a gunshot wound to the thigh turned up at Fisher-Titus Medical Center early Sunday morning. Police identified the man was Tierace Scott, 28, of the 100 block of Dewitt Ave., Sandusky.Although Scott claimed the wound was an accident, it is believed he may have been shot during the melee at Lyman Harbor, said Lt. Rich Braun.Police suspect the man sought treatment in a Norwalk hospital rather than a Sandusky hospital because he hoped to avoid being connected to the First Street incident, Braun said.He said the man did not seem to be interested in cooperating with police."He's saying it was an accident," Braun said. "He doesn't want anything done."Scott was treated for his injury and then released from the hospital, a Fisher-Titus spokeswoman said.Six officers rushed to the scene. The first officer present noticed while many vehicles could be seen leaving, there was still a large crowd gathered outside and several people could be seen fighting near the front door.Police attempted to arrest Aries Irby, 29, 1800 block Putnam Street, after an officer saw Irby attempting to punch someone. Irby shoved a police officer to the ground but was subdued with a Taser, police said. He was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, aggravated riot and assault on a police officer.A witness at the scene pointed out Tarne'jha Bartlett, 23, of the 1300 block of Cleveland Road, and told police Bartlett had a gun. She admitted having a gun in her waistband and that she did not have a concealed weapons permit. She was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. A dashcam video also showed her engaged in a fight, so she also was charged with aggravated riot with a handgun.Police determined the gun was not stolen and put the weapon in an evidence room weapons locker.Police likely will look at video to determine if further charges are warranted, Braun said.Police also investigated gunshots being fired near Lyman Harbor in early November.Reach reporter Tom Jackson at jackson@sanduskyregister.com and follow him on Twitter @jacksontom.Aries Irby Tarne'jha Bartlett
