Police: Man threatened to kill several people

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man is facing several felonies after an alleged violent incident in the city on April 9. Dashawn M. Morris, 19, of the 1600 block of Carr St., has been charged with two first-degree felony counts of aggravated burglary, one second-degree felony count of felonious assault and six first-degree misdemeanor counts of aggravated menacing. Just before 3 a.m., officers were called to a residence for a report of a man entering a home uninvited and brandishing a firearm, according to a Sandusky police report. The man, Morris, fled from the home as officers arrived and could not be located. A victim told police that Morris punched them in the face without warning, the report states. Morris also allegedly dragged a victim by their hair and threatened to kill numerous people in the residence, including children. At the time of the threats, Morris allegedly was holding a black pistol. He also reportedly threatened to hit someone with a flower vase. Victims and/or their guardians signed charges against Morris for the incident. Police later obtained a search warrant and raided Morris' residence, where they located a pistol's magazine, but were unable to locate the actual gun. Morris was arrested on April 10. His case in Sandusky Municipal Court was bound over for the Erie County grand jury's consideration. As of Saturday, Morris no longer appears in the Erie County Jail roster. As a condition of his bond, he was ordered not to have any contact with victims.
