Woman begged man to 'please stop' raping her

DANBURY TWP. — A woman who recorded her alleged rape on Snapchat last week pleaded with a man to "please stop" assaulting her, Ottawa County prosecutor James VanEerten said."She made several comments asking him to stop," VanEerten told the Register. "The video made it clear these were unwanted sexual advances."VanEerten and the Danbury Township Police Department received copies of the alleged rape video, which was recorded on Snapchat by the victim.Snapchat is a social media application for mobile phones. The program allows its users to record short videos to share with their friends.Danbury Township resident James Dennis Allen, 77, was arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with rape after police were called out to a home in the 2000 block of S. Emerald Shores Drive in Danbury Township. The video, which was shot by the 20-year-old victim, allegedly shows Allen and the young woman drinking alcohol together throughout the home. Featuring almost 20 large houses, the home is located in a small neighborhood near the Marblehead Peninsula's southern coastline overlooking the Sandusky Bay.Allen appeared in Ottawa County Municipal Court last Wednesday and had his bond set at $1 million. He remained behind bars at the Ottawa County jail as of Monday. He is scheduled to appear for an arraignment this Wednesday morning.
