Don't be scared: Many new attractions headlining Halloweekends 2017

Planning for the annual Halloween-themed weekends in September and October starts as soon as one full year prior. At some point, it is determined to remove some of the older Haunt mazes or scare zones and replace them with modern versions.This past week, Cedar Point's Halloweekends pages on its website were live for a very short period of time before being taken down. Fortunately, we were able to get a sneak peak into what we can expect new for 2017.First, you will see a return of some of your favorites this year:• Returning indoor mazes: G.A. Boeckling's Eerie Estate, Hexed, Slaughter House, Zombie High School• Returning scare zones: Blood on the Bayou, Cornstalkers, Cutthroat Cove, Maniacal Mechanical Screamworks, Tombstone Terror-ToryThe 2017 Cedar Point Halloweekends should feature some attractions familiar to guests. This would include its many mazes, such as the G.A. Boeckling's Eerie Estate, Hexed, Slaughter House and the Zombie High School.So did you notice which mazes and scare zones are missing?• Eden Musee will be replaced with Deprivation: No Way Out, a new lights out experience.• Eternity Infirmary will now be Fearground Freakshow.• Harvest Fear will debut outside of the Townhall Museum, extending your experience throughout Frontier Town and tying into the future theme.Want to experience family fun during the day? The Great Pumpkin Fest will return for 2017 with all of your favorite activities as well as some new ones.One of our favorite new items is a daytime experience through Hexed Spellbound. The witches of Hexed have toned down their spells for a magical daytime Haunt that is perfect for beginners. Looks for a lights on tour with very few if any actors inside the maze, and surely no scares.Always a kid favorite, the Magical House on Boo Hill will also return near the Blue Streak.Kids will also get to enjoy tractor rides, the daytime Peanuts parade, crafts, trick-or-treating, and other family activities you will come to love.
