Here's where you can celebrate the Fourth of July

SANDUSKY — Celebrate our independence with several bangs firing off all across the region this holiday weekend.With some help from Lake Erie Shores & Islands, the tourism bureau for Erie and Ottawa counties, here's where you can celebrate the Fourth of July: July 1-4: Light Up The Point; Cedar Point, 1 Cedar Point Drive, SanduskyWhy not celebrate America at "The Roller Coaster Capital of the World?" There will be spectacular fireworks on the beach, a VIP viewing experience and 3D fireworks on Monday with special entertainment and more fun activities. 8:15 p.m. July 1: Mike Farris and The Roseland Rhythm Revue "Sing the Soul of America," Hoover Auditorium at Lakeside, W. Third St, Lakeside-MarbleheadA musical performance with spirited soul and gospel music. Lakeside gate fees will apply. 7 p.m. July 1: Red, White and Song Cabaret, Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., BellevueStyled after the 1942 film "Holiday Inn," where every holiday inspired singing and dancing, the Bellevue Society for the Arts will be presenting an Independence Day-themed Cabaret. The night will feature an array of fun, romantic and traditional songs. July 2-3: East Harbor Independence Day Celebration, East Harbor State Park, 1169 N. Buck Road, Lakeside-MarbleheadWith the summer season comes fun on the beach. On Friday night, enjoy a band and bonfire right on the beach. Watch local fireworks from the shores of Lake Erie on Monday, the actual holiday. 6 p.m July 2: Red, White & Blues Bang, Huron Boat Basin, 330 Main St., HuronEnjoy an evening at Huron's scenic boat basin while listening to the blues. The concert will include fireworks over the river at 10:30 p.m. 5-11 p.m. July 3: Independence Day Celebration, Mill Street along the Portage River, downtown Oak HarborDuring this celebration, visitors can enjoy food, entertainment, giant inflatables, a duck race and the river, a live band and beer; all leading up to an amazing display of fireworks, starting at dusk. July 4: Fourth of July Fireworks Cruise, Goodtime I, Jackson Street Pier, SanduskyCruise-goers will enjoy fireworks over the beautiful waters of Lake Erie right in front of Cedar Point. Reservations are required for this peaceful cruise. Call 800-446-3140. 2-3:30 p.m. July 4: Independence Day Concert, Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library, Spiegel Grove, FremontThis outdoor event combines Civil War re-enactors with the talented musicians from the Toledo Symphony Concert Band in a rousing concert of popular and patriotic tunes. The fan favorite "1812 Overture" will be accompanied by cannon-fire. Come early and enjoy refreshments before the show. Bring your own seats. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 4: Lakeside Chautauqua Independence Day Activities, Lakeside Chautauqua, 236 Walnut Ave., LakesideFestivities will kick off with the children's bike parade at 10 a.m. followed by the float parade at 10:15 a.m. featuring unique golf cart floats. Fireworks will be displayed at 9:45 p.m. Lakeside gate fees will apply. July 4: Port Clinton Area Fourth of July Celebration, Port ClintonEvents will take place throughout the day. Some include Star Spangled Squirt Gun 5K Run/Walk, a firecracker cutie contest, a classic car show, Voices of Freedom Concert, fireworks and more. July 4: Put-in-Bay Fourth of July Fireworks, Put-in-BayCelebrate America's birthday with a spectacular fireworks program at dark. Fireworks will be shot off a barge over the downtown harbor. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4: Stars and Stripes Celebration, Washington Park, downtown SanduskyThis is a family-friendly holiday event. There will be a parade, activities for the kids, concessions, musical entertainment and more.Locations all across Erie and Ottawa counties, including Cedar Point in Sandusky, will offer fireworks and other celebrations to commemorate the Fourth of July this holiday weekend.
