Hop out to Bunny Yoga

MARGARETTA TWP. — An upcoming event aims to entertain, educate and get people into an overall healthier mindset about bunnies. Anyone is welcome to attend Bunny Yoga at Castalia Farms, scheduled for 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Sunday at Castalia Farms, 7101 Heywood Road, in Castalia. "Celebrate Earth Month and kick off Earth Week with some playful movement with rescued bunnies," according to an event statement. There is a cost to attend: $25 for one or $40 for a pairing. People can pay at the door but must register ahead of time at forms.gle/7jseMsq4SR1ayC7B8. They can also access this information on Facebook by searching for "Bunny Yoga at Castalia Farms!" All proceeds, however, benefit Downs on the Farms, a nonprofit for children with special needs that provides nature- and farm-based education. "This is in an effort to educate the public on the importance of due diligence when adopting an animal," said Emily Kuzmick, an environmental educator who's also a yoga and meditation instructor leading this event. She's also an avid animal lover and caretaker with more than 10 years of wildlife rehabilitation and research experience. "Bunnies and chicks are common Easter gifts that often end up abandoned or resold once people realize that they are living creatures that require years of care," Kuzmick said.
