A fun wing-watching event

HURON TWP. — About a dozen people came together on Thursday at Osborn MetroPark in the Huron area for an event known as Wings Over Lake Erie — a fun, informative morning of coffee, discussion and a walk through the woods looking for birds Migration season has begun on the north coast with more birds arriving in the area daily on their trek back north. Many variety of birds were seen on the walk, including chipping sparrows, white-throated sparrows, fox sparrows, nuthatches, blue birds, ruby-throated kinglets, black vultures and ring-necked ducks. Organized by Erie MetroParks, the next Wings Over Lake Erie event takes place on Thursday, April 23 at Wyandot MetroPark W., 4501 Cleveland Road, Huron. "Join us as we explore various parks and birding hotspots in search of our feathered friends," according to a statement from Erie MetroParks. "No binoculars?
