Feel refreshed at Victory Kitchen

SANDUSKY — Victory Kitchen wants to help people feel rejuvenated. The nonprofit is hosting a spring refresh day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 24 with a variety of groups and organizations available for attendees. Victory Kitchen is located at 1613 Hayes Ave. (Ohio 4) in Sandusky. All of the services are free and open to everyone. Here's what is being offered: • Haircuts by Sandusky Career Center • Job application assistance and additional resources by Erie County Job and Family Services • Health information by the Erie County Health Department • Support and recovery information by local recovery services Victory Kitchen will also be serving its daily hot meals. Breakfast is between 9-11:30 a.m., and lunch is between noon to 3 p.m. Meals are served at the same time Monday through Friday year-round. Organizers want to make sure people can access resources that could be useful to them. Events like this hold true to Victory Kitchen's mission, which is to be the helping hands for the lost and hurting in the community. "Our goal every day, especially through events like this, is to give people hope," said Carolynne Walters, who runs Victory Kitchen with her husband, Luke. "By closing the gap between need and resource, we can see actual change." Organizers welcome everyone to attend. People shouldn't feel embarrassed. "Don't let your pride rob you of an incredible opportunity," Walters said. "Admitting and asking for help is never easy, but the beautiful thing about this community is that we want to see everyone succeed. We believe that if you can dream it, God can do it. We want to see those dreams come true, and if providing a free refresh day plays even the smallest part in making that dream come true, we are here for it."
