Company relocates to, invests $5M in Bellevue

BELLEVUE — Armeton, a leading global manufacturer of concrete counterweights, recently and successfully relocated and established its new production facility in Bellevue, according to a Wednesday announcement from the Sandusky County Economic Development Corp. The move to an 81,000-square-foot building, at 111 Hirt Drive, is a significant $5 million capital investment in Sandusky County, retaining 37 existing jobs and creating four new positions, bringing Armeton's Bellevue workforce to 41 employees. Headquartered in Dubai, Armeton manufactures precision-engineered concrete counterweights for the global home appliance industry, specializing in producing critical components that serve various major home appliance manufacturers' locations from its Ohio facility. This strategic relocation, from Norwalk, is driven by a new company focus to move away from rented facilities and to invest long-term as a token of confidence in the region. The new Bellevue facility is expected to be in full production by the end of April. "We are excited to welcome Armeton to their new facility in Bellevue," said Beth Hannam, the corporation's executive director. "This project is a great addition to Bellevue and Sandusky County, creating new opportunities for residents along with a substantial investment in our local economy," Hannam added. "We appreciate Armeton's confidence in our community and their commitment to growing here." Those representing Bellevue's government share in this enthusiasm. "We are pleased that Armeton has chosen Bellevue to continue and expand (its) manufacturing presence in the region," Bellevue's economic development director Dave Sabo said.
