SANDUSKY — Have you ever wondered what school is really like for kids today? Things have changed a lot over the years. Today's students face a different world that many of us can't imagine. That's why Sandusky Schools is inviting the whole community — parents, grandparents and neighbors — to a special event: The Parent Summit 2026, designed to help you understand and connect. It's happening from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at Sandusky Career Center, 4501 Venice Heights Blvd., in Sandusky. This isn't just for parents with kids in school right now. It's for anyone who cares about young people, especially those who want to stay involved, informed and supportive. The morning starts with a free light breakfast, and everyone will enjoy a complimentary Chick-fil-A lunch. It's a relaxed, friendly setting where you can meet others and feel right at home. You'll hear from a keynote speaker and join simple, easy-to-follow discussions on topics that matter: • How to talk to kids, Bullying - the Meaning, Screening and Being from a Parenting Perspective • Improving Attendance Through Positive Relationships • Digital Empowerment & Footprint • Building Community Through Literacy • Improving Attendance through Positive Relationships • Digital Empowerment and Footprint • Human Trafficking 101 These sessions are designed to be clear, helpful, and easy to understand — no special knowledge needed. There are accommodations to help to care for children, so adults can participate while the kids remain entertained at: • Grades K–8: Sandusky Rec, 1918 Mills St. — This service is provided by the Sandusky Recreation Department. • Preschool & Kindergarten: Sandusky Career Center — This service is provided by the Erie County Health Department Parent Summit 2026 also offers: • Open house at the Sandusky Career Center • Job fair with openings in the school district • Free haircuts and salon services • On-site health services, including physicals, shots, and dental care, provided by the Erie County Health Department Free to attend but sign up early The event is free, but the first 100 people to register will receive a special door prize.
