PREP ROUNDUP: Bellevue, Norwalk pick up easy wins

BELLEVUE — Bellevue's baseball team pulled away for a 9-2 non-conference win against Fremont Ross on Tuesday to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Redmen scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and finished with 10 hits. Ben Chapin threw four scoreless innings and struck out six to get the pitching win. Drew Dennings had two hits, scored three runs and drove in three to lead the Bellevue offense. Ike Brown and Tatum Gore each had two hits and Sam Bollinger scored two runs. Reid Claus' two-run triple in the third inning gave Bellevue a 3-0 lead. Claus added a RBI groundout to extend the lead to 4-0 in the fifth. Noah Helton led the Truckers (5-1) with three hits, including a double. He scored three runs and had two RBI. Landon Ferkel and Brady Singer each had two hits and Norwalk finished with 12 hits. Greg Keefer got the pitching win, striking out seven and walking only one in four innings on the mound. Norwalk opens SBC Lake Division play Wednesday at Sandusky.
