Area mother dies in crash

PERRYSBURG TWP. — A mother died, and her baby, who traveled in the car with her, sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle car crash occurring on Saturday. A report — completed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Bowling Green post, which continues to investigate the incident — outlines what allegedly occurred: • The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. at an intersection in Perrysburg Township. • "A 2018 Ford four-door driven by Brooke Tabbert, 30, of Oak Harbor, was traveling eastbound on Five Point Road and failed to yield at the stop sign at Five Point Road and Lime City Road." • A 2016 Ford SUV driven by a 29-year-old Perrysburg man "was traveling southbound on Lime City Road and struck Ms. Tabbert's vehicle." • "Both vehicles traveled off the southeast corner of the intersection, striking a utility pole." • First responders took Tabbert to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. • "Her infant child was also transported to" the same hospital with minor injuries. • The man, who sustained minor injuries, was not taken to the hospital.
