MetalTek appoints new CEO

SANDUSKY — MetalTek International announced E.J. Kubick replaced Bob Smickley as the company's CEO."It is my privilege to lead our employees as we support our customers with custom metal product solutions," Kubick said. "MetalTek is a company with a strong history and an even stronger future, and I am grateful to Bob and the board of directors for the faith they've placed in me in this role."Kubick joined the company in 2003 and has moved up the ranks of its leadership. During his time with the company, MetalTek has expanded its capabilities in centrifugal, sand and investment casting.His promotion to CEO is the culmination of a multiyear succession plan which began with his appointment as chief operating officer in January 2017.Smickley is retiring after 35 years, the last 26 years as CEO, with MetalTek. Under his leadership, the company expanded its reach and operations. He will continue to serve on the board of directors with Kubick."It's impossible to imagine MetalTek today without Bob's vision and leadership," Kubick said. "He's been a mentor and I look forward to continuing to work with him and the rest of the board to make MetalTek a special place for our customers and employees."MetalTek is based out of Wisconsin and is one of the largest suppliers of alloy components for high temperature, wear and corrosion environments and high-compliance industries.It acquired Sandusky International, formerly known as Sandusky Foundry & Machine, in 2010.
