Update: Fremont man acquitted on rape, other charges

Read the update here: https://sanduskyregister.com/news/316642/man-acquitted-on-rape-charge/ Original post FREMONT — A Fremont man appeared Friday in the Sandusky County Common Pleas Court following accusations of sexual assault. Cody Delgado, 33, of the 800 block of June St., was charged with two counts each of rape, a first-degree felony, and sexual battery, a third-degree felony. According to the Sandusky County Clerk of Courts, Delgado allegedly committed the crimes on Sept. 3, 2013, and May 30, 2018. The clerk's office also indicated Clyde police was the arresting agency. The Sandusky County Prosecutor's Office, however, couldn't be reached to offer insight into the charges. Delgado had his initial appearance in court before Judge Jeremiah Ray. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to the court clerk. The Sandusky County Sheriff's Office booked him into jail Friday, but he was released after he posted his $50,000 bond.
