Library district gets 'enchanted' this April

MILAN — The Milan-Berlin Library District will offer a wide range of programs this April. This would include spring celebrations, hands-on learning opportunities, food-themed gatherings and family-friendly activities at both libraries: Featured events at the Milan Public Library, 19 Church St. • Enchanted Pages & Charming Crafts: The Spellshop: From 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, adults can discuss Sarah Beth Durst's romantasy novel "The Spellshop" while creating a mini spider plant craft. • Meet a Turtle with Erie MetroParks: From 4-4:30 p.m. on April 9, children will learn how turtles survive winter and meet a live turtle during this hands-on nature program. • Beautiful Blooms & Bountiful Bite: The Joy of Container Gardening: From 1-3 p.m. on April 28, Erie County Master Gardener volunteers will share tips for growing plants successfully in containers. Featured events at the Berlin Heights Public Library, 4 E. Main St. • Truman and the Bomb: From noon to 1 p.m. on April 18, learn about President Harry Truman, the Manhattan Project and the decision-making process behind the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. • MBLD Pop-Up Cafe: Bubble Tea Social: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 25, celebrate National Bubble Tea Day with free bubble tea and sweet treats while supplies last. Additional April offerings include preschool storytime, LEGO programs, book clubs, escape rooms, hands-on crafting, history presentations and activities for children, teens and adults.
