Barber, cosmetology clients welcome

SANDUSKY — Sandusky Career Center's barber and cosmetology programs recently opened their services to the public. The career center, located at 4501 Venice Heights Blvd., welcomes community members to help its students learn their craft with walk-in and appointment services. This is a trade-off that both the community and students will benefit from, officials said. "Price-wise, the community and the students can get the practice they need for the practical part of the program," Monica Kirksey, coordinator of the barber and cosmetology program, said. Barber program hours: • Wednesdays — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for walk-ins, and 4-5 p.m. for those with appointments • Thursdays — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Fridays — 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cosmetology program hours: • Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays — 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Chemical services are available until 1 p.m. Appointments must be made for manicures, pedicures, facials and hair removal. All other services are first-come, first-served. Barber services range from $2 to $10, while the cosmetology services range from $3 to $45 and up.
