Port Clinton revved up for annual car show

PORT CLINTON — A classic and beloved car show will return to Port Clinton this weekend. The 24th annual Jerry Lippus Memorial Classic Car Show, hosted by the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Adams Street Park in downtown Port Clinton.The show is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check in for the show begins at 8:30 a.m.The event is free to the public, but registering a car will cost $10. Each participant's car must be registered to park in the car show area."It's going to be a huge weekend for Port Clinton," said Nikki Adams, president of the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce. "The car show also raises money every year for the Port Clinton fireworks."Organizers shoot off fireworks during special events each year in the city. Music from DJ Frank LaManna will be played throughout the show.
