Foundation's support remains strong for art

PORT CLINTON — The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council remains grateful to the Rotary Club of Port Clinton Foundation for its ongoing support through donations of art classes for children in Ottawa County. This "allows The Arts Garage to provide free art classes for kids who reside in Ottawa County," according to the council, which oversees the garage, 317 W. Perry St., in Port Clinton. Elizabeth Davenport, the council's children's art class coordinator, created a multifaceted program that will present art to children of all ages while instilling in them the value of art in regard to well-being and creativity. This marks the fourth year the Port Clinton Rotary Foundation has provided funds for this program. It pledges $5,000 annually. "All kids in Ottawa County take classes for free," according to the statement. "The classes have been very successful with The Arts Garage serving more than 300 kids in 2024 and more than 200 in 2025." The garage closed for three months in 2025 because of renovations.
