PREP ROUNDUP: Margaretta softball moves to 3-0

MONROEVILLE — The Margaretta softball team scored eight runs in the fourth inning and added five more in the sixth inning to defeat Monroeville 14-5 in non-league action Thursday at Clark Park. The Polar Bears trailed 5-1 after three innings, but got the offense going to improve to 3-0 this season. Cassidy Lane doubled, homered and scored three times for Margaretta. Brooke Hastings added a double, run batted in and run scored. Lucy Edwards walked twice and scored three runs for the Polar Bears. Kenadee Lesch (2-0) picked up the win, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks. She struck out seven. Brooke Morman singled and drove in two runs for the Eagles (2-1). Alayna Tyler added a single, RBI and two runs while Taylor Scheid tripled, drove in a run and scored once. Payton Weilnau was the losing pitcher, allowing nine runs (none earned) on three hits and four walks. She had 11 strikeouts. Mallory Hay tallied three singles and three runs batted in for Bellevue (1-2). Taylor Waldrup added two singles, two runs and a RBI while Chloe Easterwood contributed two singles, three RBI and a run. Lianna Sosa registered a single, three runs scored and two RBI. Hay picked up the win in the circle, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and four walks. She tallied 15 strikeouts. Bellevue 702 0122 2 — 14 12 0 Firelands 102 000 0 — 3 5 0 WP: Hay (1-2). LP: Kline 2B: (F) Schrader St. Paul 14, Lucas 3 NORWALK — The Flyers got in the win column for the first time this season by piling up multiple runs in each of their four innings in the win at Norwalk Area Contractors Park. Ella Kalizewski had a single, double, triple and six runs batted in to pace St. Paul (1-1). Kegney Stoll added two singles while Mallorie Sowers doubled with a RBI. Also for the Flyers, Bella Guerra had two singles, two RBI and four runs scored. Addy Rospert also singled with a RBI while Allyson Takacs walked three times and scored three times.
