Victory Kitchen preps for Easter basket giveaway, meal

SANDUSKY — Victory Kitchen is seeking donations for its annual Easter basket giveaway happening next week. Nonprofit officials stated their greatest need is for completed Easter baskets. Some good items to put in a basket include crayons, coloring books, kites, chalk, small stuffed animals, bubbles, small toys, books, jump rope, puzzles, cards, Play-Doh and slime. Victory Kitchen will accept the donations up until the day of the event. The Easter basket giveaway will take place at 10 a.m. on Good Friday, April 3, while supplies last. It is a drive-up only event, and it will occur at the brick station house building near the kitchen. The line will form in the eastbound direction on North Depot Street. Baskets are for children ages 12 and under. No identification or verification is necessary, however, the child/children receiving the gifts must be present in the vehicle. On the same day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., people can walk up to the window at the kitchen for a to-go Easter dinner. Questions can be directed to Victory Kitchen by calling 419-627-8732 during business hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Donations can also be dropped off during those hours. The nonprofit is located at 1613 Hayes Ave. (Ohio 4) in Sandusky.
