BENTON-CARROLL-SALEM • Oak Harbor High School and Junior High Science Olympiad qualified for the State Science Olympiad Competition. Both teams earned third place at the regional competition hosted by Bowling Green State University. The students will compete at Ohio State University in April. PORT CLINTON • Port Clinton High School announced Wyatt Siefke and Davis Torres as the Elk's Students of the Month for February. Siefke's activities an achievements: three-sport athlete, four-year letter winner in varsity football where he served as a two time team captain and received conference honorable mention twice, four-year letter winner and two-time team captain qualify for state in swim, four-year member of varsity baseball and 11th-grade team captain when he also received a leadership award, member of leadership council for four years and member of National Honor Society. He plans to study finance at the University of Kentucky to eventually become a financial advisor. Torres's activities and achievements team captain of RoboSkins Robotics Team; He can often be found working on the team robot after school and playing upbeat music to motivate his teammates. This season, he led his team to earn the top ten at the Cedar Point Roller Coast RoboClash Tournament, the semifinal in the Sandusky Bay Robotics League and second place in the NERD Nation Invitational. He is also an avid lifter and works at Jolly Rogers. He plans to study engineering after high school. DANBURY • Danbury Elementary School participated in its annual Bingo Day. • Students participated in a Math and Literacy Night. Families played games and won prizes. NORWALK • Main Street School raised over $800 for the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital through Coin Wars. Marco Caponi's class won donuts and extra recess for their participation. EDISON • Edison students attended a preview performance of Macbeth at the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland. They learned more about the show they had discussed in class.
